The Centennial is a pub of history and Australian character.
Built in 1872, it’s been a part of the town through its gold rush beginnings and beyond.
We’re a proper country pub—big meals at a good price, cold beer, and a place where everyone’s welcome. Families are always looked after, and friendly dogs are welcome in the beer garden (on a lead).
Inside, you’ll find a warm fire going through the cooler months, a bar where you can sit and have a yarn with the locals, and pool tables if you’re up for a game.
Gulgong itself was built on gold, and the Centennial has been here through it all—including during the time of Henry Lawson, whose legacy still runs strong in the town today. As Lawson once said, “Beer makes you feel the way you ought to feel without beer.” We reckon that still holds up.
We also offer comfortable accommodation, along with easy access facilities including a wheelchair accessible toilet.
Just a short drive from Mudgee, the Centennial is an easy stop for a feed, a drink, or a proper country pub stay.
